Why size changes the answer
Almost every dog age calculator online applies a single formula to every dog. That is wrong, and measurably so. A dog's first year is worth about 15 human years and the second about nine more — but after that, a small breed gains roughly 4 human years annually while a giant breed gains 8. At age ten that is the difference between about 56 and 88 human years. Our calculator splits by weight class; most don't.
