- Kittens have crystal-clear irises; a cloudy, hazy look to the lens usually means 10 or older.
- Coat
- Smooth and fine when young, coarser and patchier past 8, with grey often appearing around the muzzle.
- Muscle
- Young cats are dense over the shoulders and hips; seniors lose muscle over the spine even at a stable weight.
